The desktop app — what you open and what it does

The website explains the idea. The desktop app is where the loop runs on your machine: deep learning, honest practice, and a clean place to stop when life interrupts — with a side chat co-pilot when you need one.

In one line. A local shell for map · practice · save place — not another browser tab that forgets you, and not a public app-store marketplace.

Who it is for

Busy adults and small households who want skill that sticks under real calendars. One install can support more than one learner (each with their own profile and materials). Institutions evaluating the product can treat this as a picture of the learner-facing surface; deeper deployment options live in the enterprise and LMS guides.

What it is (and is not)

It is

It is not

The three main doors

These are the load-bearing rooms. Everything else supports them.

Deep learning

One idea until it clicks. You load a topic, work with structure and the side chat, and aim for a picture of the subject you can return to — not only a chat that will scroll away.

Practice

Quiz yourself the way the real world will: honest right/wrong pressure when it counts, then clear next work from what you missed — not random coverage of everything.

Save place

When you stop (or life stops you), leave a short note for next-time-you: where you were and what you meant to do next. Tomorrow starts from that board, not from memory.

The quieter tools

Useful shells around the three doors — not a second product to learn.

Workflow practice floor (optional companion)

Some goals need more than closed-notes drills: they need hands on a process (forms, stages, modules) so moving onto a real tool is less of a cold start — with neutral off-ramps, not a job-day promise. Where we stand that up, it is a thin, Dynamics-shaped practice floor — map and practice packs stay the source of truth for what you learn; the floor is where you rehearse how work moves.

How a short session usually runs

  1. Open Home — see what you’re already in the middle of.
  2. Pick Deep learning or Practice.
  3. Load materials & chat when you’re ready to work that block.
  4. Talk with the side co-pilot where it helps (each main door keeps its own chat).
  5. When you stop: Save place → one line: Next time I will…
  6. Optional: glance Progress or jot something in Notes.
Clock labels. Labels like “this morning,” “today,” and “tonight” follow your computer’s clock. The app is talking to when you are, not a fixed “study night.”

Chat, in plain terms

Names, if you see them

Public site and app often say Deep learning · Practice · Save place. When product codes appear, they are just the engines inside The Cognition Factory:

You do not need those codes to use the app.

What we intentionally do not cover here

How materials are authored, how files are laid out on disk, or internal operator workflows. Those live with implementers and partners under separate briefs — not in the public learner path.
